Guide for Visitors
Friends of Crystal Springs Rhododendron Garden and Portland Parks and Recreation thank you for helping to keep Crystal Springs Rhododendron Garden clean, safe, and enjoyable for all.
STAY ON GARDEN PATHS
Please do not walk through the plant beds as there are many fragile plants (sometimes beneath the soil waiting for their moment to break through!). Please also stay out of the streams, ponds, waterfalls, and lake.
CHILDREN 15 YEARS OLD OR YOUNGER MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY RESPONSIBLE ADULT
The garden is a wonderful space to engage with your children and nature. We ask that all members of your party help us keep the garden healthy and safe by staying on pathways and out of the water and off garden walls.
KEEP WILDLIFE WILD, PLEASE DON’T FEED ANIMALS
The garden is home to many different animals and they thrive best when they forage and hunt as they would in nature. Please do not chase or touch wildlife.
commercial activity in the garden
Unapproved commercial activity is prohibited at Crystal Springs. Businesses or individuals may not use the garden as a setting or destination for workshops, courses, services or like activities.
We thank you for your cooperation.
PICK UP AFTER YOURSELF
Please use the garbage cans throughout the garden or take garbage with you.
THE GARDEN IS SMOKE/VAPE-FREE ENVIRONMENT
Be considerate of other guests and refrain from smoking or vaping in the garden.
LEASH AND PICK UP AFTER your pets
Well behaved pets, on a leash, are welcome at Crystal Springs. Please help us continue this policy by cleaning up after your pets and keep them close so as not to antagonize wildlife.
PRIVATE EVENTS
We have individuals and groups who hold events in the garden. Please respect their privacy. If you are interested in renting out space in the garden, please email us for more information.
PORTRAIT PHOTOGRAPHY
Please review our portrait photography guidelines. Nature photography is welcome. If using a tripod, please mind others’ access to the pathways.
