Forest Bathing
$40 per person for a 2 hour session
Experience a two-hour guided forest bathing walk at Crystal Springs Rhododendron Garden.
Forest bathing (also known as Forest Therapy) is a practice that is inspired by the Japanese practice of Shinrin-Yoku, which translates to "forest bathing." Forest Bathing is an immersive experience in nature that supports healing and wellbeing.
A certified Forest Therapy guide will take you through a series of invitations that can support you in slowing down, connecting with your senses, and deepen your relationships with the more-than-human world.
Please Note: Due to the nature of this session, we ask that participants leave their beloved pets at home
Decades of research show that spending time outside in forests and other natural environments can support our health and wellbeing. Forest Bathing offers a variety of health benefits such as stress relief, improved immune function, mood and cognition support, and more.
Forest Bathing also reminds us of the deep connections that exist between humans and nature, because we too are a part of nature and not separate from it.
ABOUT THE FACILITATOR
Jacquelyn Boliba-Soule (she/her/hers) grew up in the Pacific Northwest and has always had a deep appreciation for spending time outside and connecting with the natural world.
The practice of Forest Bathing has supported her in deepening her connections with herself, her community, and the more than human world. She holds a M.S degree in Leadership for Sustainability Education from Portland State University and is a certified Forest Therapy Guide with the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy Guides and Programs (ANFT).
